A New Home for Us!

So it's been a long time since I've posted.  It's been almost four years.  The boys are now 12 and in 7th Grade.  David is the left, Matthew on the right.  They are growing up to be amazing boys.

We spent the summer living with Grandma Anne and Grandpa Denny. Kitty was not a big fan of that arrangement.  We took over the two bedrooms upstairs and he was stuck.  He didn't NOT like it when I was downstairs and not with him.

The reason for this was because we got the opportunity to buy my Grandparents house in Charlotte.  So we emptied our house because it's so small we knew it wouldn't sell with all our junk in it.  The good part of this deal was my cousin owned the house.  He bought it when my Grandpa died and we bought it from him. He was nice enough to let us store half our stuff in the garage there until things were said and done.

Our realtor was awesome and we sold our house in Lansing for full asking price and was able to close on both houses the same day so we were only homeless for about an hour.

It's been really surreal living here. I've shed a quite a few tears.  This is the house I remember my Grandparents in growing up.  This house has so many memories for me.  This was a great opportunity for us and we took it.  The day we closed when we drove away I called my mom (this is her parents house but not the house she grew up in, they bought it when I was going into 6th grade)... anyways... I called my Mom bawling.  All I could sneak out was

"I own Grandma's house"

This house is a lot bigger. We are going from 2br 1ba less then 1000 sq ft to 3br 1ba, add a finish basement, a two car garage, my front porch good school district.  I have my own craft room... did I saw basement!?!  The boys now have their own rooms.

We've done a LOT of work. We put new flooring down in the kitchen, hall and master.  We painted the master and we just redid the bathroom, the only thing we didn't change out in there was the tub/shower but that will most likely be changed soon.  The kitchen will get painted soon then I'll be happy with that.  We took all the wall paper off the hallway and are still trying to get that prepped to paint.  We put some sealer in it and now we need to prime it.  It's a hot mess.

I want to paint the living room but that'll have to wait until spring, I can deal with it now that I got some pictures on the wall.

It's starting to feel like ours now.  It's always felt like home but now it's feeling more like ours and more normal now.  I'm comfortable but it's not fully 'normal' for me yet, it's getting there with everything we get done it's getting better.  My anxiety needs normal and it's getting there.  I'm so happy that we made this move.  It's a wonderful thing for my family and I'm so happy I get to share it with my men.
